A 500ml bottle in 2010, ABV is 3.6. A brownish best bitter with roasted malt. I've tried this a couple times from the cask over the years and it's far from my favourite, in fact it's not my cup of tea at all.

On cask at the Old Court House Inn as Liberation Best Bitter. Deep brown to black and opaque. Malt loaf and chewy toffee on the nose. More sweet malt and some caramel with light roast on the finish. The palate is light to medium bodied, sweet and malty through the middle and lightly roasty on the finish.

Keg half pint at The Office, St. Helier. Also sampled at The White Horse, St. Helier. Mahogany colour, creamy off-white head. Malty aroma and flavour, hints of roast malts, some dark fruits, a hint of malt vinegar but not disturbing.

Keg at The Cock & Bottle. It pours clear brown with a creamy beige head. The nose is toasty, brown bread, nutty, earth and light caramel sweetness. The taste is twiggy bitterness, leather, nut, brown bread and mild astringency with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Keg bitter yay...... Pretty so-so. A bit like caledonia best.
