Deep opaque black-brown body, thick dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and fruitskin, perhaps a touch of marshmallow. Rich. Strong cocoa body, burnt, charred roasted malts, and a touch of licorice. Light sweetness leads to a burnt leaf finish. Rather soft body with subtle heft. This reminds me a lot of Arcadia’s Imperial Stout, though a tad more bitter in the finish. A refreshing take on the style, and a solid beer.

22 oz bottle from beastiefan2k. Year unknown. Pour is solid black with a firm 2 inch tan head. Aroma is roasty malt, coffee and hop bitterness. Taste is the coffee roasted malt, some licorice in the middle and a smoky hop bitterness to the finish. Initially, a touch thin on the palate, though this picked up / improved as the beer warmed to room temperature. Overall, very nice IS. The coffee roastiness really hangs around a long time.

Poured a deep black with a foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Flavor was sweet with chocolate and dark cherries, finish was heavy and oily. I expect more complexity out of an imperial stout, but on it’s own it was nice to drink.

Pours jet black into a snifter. Brown micro head conglomerates and leaves spider lacing as it slowly recedes. Mild cocoa aromas. Slightly sour espresso and full upfront with with a lasting baker’s chocolate, pit fruit and tobacco finish.

Bottle; Nose of dark fruit like dark chocolate covered cherries mixed with raisins; Opaque black with cherry accents and a medium tan head; Flavor of coffee, asparagus, chocolate and some hop bitterness. The finish is smoky like I been hanging around a cigar smoker. Odeed didn’t like it that much either.

Good aroma. Light coffee, chocolate, and oak. Flavor has medium-bitter malt and roasted meat. A dark black beer on on the thick side. Good.

Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a medium dark brown foamy head with good retention. Aroma of bitter hops and roasted malt is quite dominating and some faint chocolate notes may be hiding being this. Taste is dominating by bitter citrus hops and leaves little place to the roasted chocolate malt. Body is slightly above average with some good carbonation and no alcohol was discernable.

Sweet and dry and thoroughly enjoyable. Pitch black pour with frothy dark tan head that quickly retreats. Delightful aroma of chocolate, molasses, plum, roasted and burnt malts. The flavors hint at chocolate, licorice and coffee with caramel and sweet dried fruit in the backbone. Full bodied with average carbonation. Bitter and very dry finish. Rich texture though somewhat gritty. A solid imperial stout all around.
