First brewed to mark the Fens Pageant in 1994, the recipe was used to mark the Bi-centenary of the North Brink Brewery. It is now a permanently available brew with an abv of 4.3%. Brewed with well-roasted malts & generous amounts of English hops, for a satisfying finish. The use of Wheat malt as well as finest Pale maris Otter malt results in a full rich malty flavour. Challenger hops give good depth to the bitter finish of the beer.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, few off white bubbles. Palate is light and semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Tangy malts, unsweet caramel. Tangy dried fruits getting brighter. Light dry finish. A bit of zip here.

Cask at the Castle, Bedford. Clear, tawny brown with a thin bubbly off-white head. Looks in good condition so we’re off to a good start. Raisin/fig aroma, with some caramel and woody notes. The initial sweet taste shows bitter edges, but ends full and fruity. Satisfying mouthfeel. A very good ale.

Gravity poured during the CAMRA AGM in Norwich on 20 Apr 2013. Rich dark amber body with a weak off-white head. The whole beer is malt laden with only a mild hop content: semi-sweet and leaning towards a toffee and caramel flavour, the smell, the same. Slight nutty hints within the taste also. Medium bodied and easy to drink: nothing spectacular but a fine beer.
