Bottle that I picked up from TripelB Worcester and consumed at home Saturday 14th March 2026 watching a film called Substance on Amazon Prime MUBI after Fin and Loz's Spicy Pork & Fennel Polpette Cannelloni for tea. Pours shark eye black with a mid sized beige head. Roasted malts doninate the aroma but the barrel ageing is also noted..Taste following a similar trajectory, but there's chocolate, bitter cocoa and a slight dark fruity tang amongst the roasted malts. These Black Damnation beers can be very hit and miss, the last one I had was a miss but this is a hit, it's nicely done, nothing over the top about it, v.good. Score: 8.0

4th March 2026
Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear dark brown beer, decent bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, pretty light and a little dry, reasonable fine minerally carbonation. Thin bodied dark malts, a modicum of dark chocolate. Light fruity whiskey dominates, pleasant but, tastes a tad watered down. Airy finish brings mild whiskey soaked fruits. It's all a bit polite but, by no means bad. Just wanted a bit more body. And Welly.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Roasty aroma with dark chocolate, liquorice, oak, light whiskey barrel, bitter roast. Moderate bittersweet flavour, body could be more full. Nice.

Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 07/02/2026.
Black with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is dark fruit esters, mellow roast, dark malts, spice, chocolate, hint of barrel, molasses.
Taste comprises chocolate shavings, whisky kiss, dark malts, dried fruit rinds, toffee.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy sipper ... perhaps wanted / expected more.

2023 vintage, bottle from Raynville Superstore. It pours jet black with a handsome khaki head. The aroma is smooth, deep roasted malt, dark chocolate, touch of pipe tobacco, charred oak, umami, liquorice, maritime vibes.abs some rocky road. The taste is initially smooth, then dries, rich roasted malt, deeply charred oak, umami, liquorice, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, dark and dried fruits, plum, raisin, date, fruit cake, burnt toast, chewy, toothy, warming boozey vibes, toasted spice and maritime whisky character with a dry, dark roasted and chewy finale. Full body and moderate carbonation. A big old toothy imperial stout. Definently savoury in today's imperial stout world. Perhaps not as much depth as I would expect, or is that hidden by the balance.?
