Pint from the cask, pours red / brown with a off white head. Aromas & tastes of tangerine, apples, red berries, toffee, biscuit, herbs & malt. Medium body. Moderate bitter finish

On cask at the Britannia, Elterwater. Appearance - deep red brown. Bid creamy slightly off white head. Nose - light tang of red fruit and red apple. Toffee and biscuits. Taste - again red apple and toffee. Almost a cherry stone note lurking. Palate - tangy and creamy at the same time. Medium bodied. Overall - good Bitter example.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Deep amber-red with a moderate cream head and a light fizz. Earthy, fruity with a little diacetyl , a smooth mouthfeel and a moderate bitterness. Decent enough.

Cask (backlog). Rubyish amber colour with a mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts along iwth some mild herbal and floral notes to it. Flavour is sweet malts, mild crisp bready notes, some nutty notes as well as some slight wooden and floral bitterness in the finish. OK, but nothing that special.

Cask @ Waggon Inn, Milnrow. Reddish-brown with a a thick creamy head. Has an earthy sweetness in both aroma and taste. Has a fair bitterness.

Red brown colour. Aroma is fruity with some malts and wood. Flavour has some sweetness and a hint of glace cherry. A bit thin and watery.

Dec 2011, the cask version I had last week was bloody awful, bland, weak and boring. Dry and fairly bitter taste, with the burnt flavour of the malts taking over from the toffee in the aroma.

Dark brown, clear, dense 1cm white head, good lacing.
Aroma - Spicy bitter hops, caramel malts, hint of spice, some roasted malt.
Taste - Light bitter spicy hops, dark caramel malt, slight bubble gum, rich, some yeast.
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish - Light bitter, malty finish with hint of spicy hops and spice.
Overall - Not a bad bitter, but not much evidence of Christmas spices.

Cask at The Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear, red-gold with a foamy, off-white head. Weak malt aroma, some leafy hops. Lightly sweet flavor, some berries, sugars, other ripe fruits, hints of bitterness. Light bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Fairly bland finish, some creamy sugars, ripe fruits. Average at best.
