Cask. White Horse Brancaster. Clear medium gold. Slim lacing white head. Nose has brioche loaf malts. Touch of peppery hop. Taste has a soft bready sweetness with decent levels of hop leaf bitterness. Easy drinking affair with light bitterness to finish.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers GB. Aroma is herbal, grassy, malty with hints of citrus and stone fruits. Honey and caramel coming through on the taste. Still quite lively mouthfeel. Easy to drink and quite enjoyable.

Gravity cask at the CAMRA Cambridge Beer Festival 2023. Pours clear gold with a white cap. Pale malt, fruity, light grassy. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Not bad.

4/6/2021. Bottle from the Real Ale Shop, Wells. Pours with a huge frothy white head, all head and no beer for ages. After a long wait it eventually settled clear straw gold. Was it worth the wait though? Pleasingly yes. Nice fruity, hay, light malt and touch spicy nutty aroma. Towards medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Easy drinking and very sessionable golden ale.

Handpull pint at the Cock Inn, Madingley. Dark gold, clear. Not much head to speak of... and not much aroma either. A bit of hay and wood. Taste is much improved, some honeyed sweetness with a bitter kick. Nice bitter golden syrup finish. Pretty good.

500ml bottle. Barely clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly anaemic, pale malty aroma, fruity hints of peach, a minimally grassy touch. Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, fruity notes of peach, a minimally spicy yeasty touch; light bodied and quite watery.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear gold with a thin white head, some floaters. Aromas of lemon, pale malt. Taste is light sweet, light lemon. Clean finish. Decent enough.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance -golden with the odd protein lump. Decent head. Nose - pale malt and lemon. Taste - lemon barley water. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a decent beer but not distinguishable from many others.

Gravity poured pint at the CAMRA AGM in Norwich on 20 Apr 2013. Very pale golden brew with not a lot of head on show. Hoppy with a citrus base, nothing too strong: refreshing without testing your taste buds or sense of smell too greatly. Pleasant enough brew, but lacks a punch and body-depth in my eyes.
