Shiny creamy offwhite biggish lasting head over light brown body with carbonation. Light bitterish hoppy aroma of caramel with citric tea and traces of nuts. Taste is lightish nutty caramel with a dry aftertaste of roasted almonds. Wooden notes. Notes of citric metallic tea hover above the whole thing. There is also a slight medicinal taste. Very harmonic, and very drinkable. Nice! (0.5l bottle.)

Bottle: golden brown colour, head fades fast leaving a rather still and lifeless brew: aroma of citrus and honey, full-bodies in the mouth with caramel malt dominating.

Bottle, Amber coloured, medium white frothy head. Sweet caramelly aroma with a touch of fruitiness caramel was also evident in the taste, as was malt and quite a distinct hoppiness, refreshing but not wonderful.

Bottle 0,5l. Bought at ICA, Langnes Tromsø. Golden brown colour. Clear. A rapidly disppearing white head. Hoppy aroma. Found some caramel in the flavour but overall the beer is dominated by some sourishness. A dry bitter finish. Refreshing.

500ml compact bottle. Clear, golden amber colour. Small, but lasting white head. Fresh aroma of sweet oranges. Medium mouthfeel, but rather poor in flavour except for a lingering bitter finish. (Tromsø Ølfestival 19.08.2006).

Bottled. (S.N.W.B. Organic Ale) Dark golden, lightly carbonating beer with a medium-sized off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel and some citrus-fruitiness. Quite well-defined maltiness in the flavor, yet almost over-powered by hops. Some of the Shepherd Neame beers are a bit malty for my taste, but here the maltiness almost disappeares due to hops. It could use a bit less fizzyness in the mouth too, I guess that maskes some of the flavors. Fruity and bitter finish. Nice body, and a decent beer. (060609)

Sample from 500 ml bottle, Shepherd Neame Whitstable Bay Organic Ale, ABV 4.5%. Courtesy of Cardinal, Stavanger. Beautiful deep amber colour, low head (the bottle had been open a while, though). Malty aroma with toffee and caramel notes. Mouthfeel has a bit too much carbonation for my taste. Flavour has fairly bitter hops throughout, which dominate whatever maltiness there might be. Fairly dry and "dusty" finish.

Dark golden amber ale with a thick creamy off-white head. Light malt aroma with chalky character. Dryish malt taste, very crisp, a bit astringent, with strong mineral character. Light maplewood notes notes. Overall, rather boring.
