Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours darkest brown, near black with a small tan head. The aroma is quite meaty, smoked notes, roasted malt, earthy, ash, liquorice and dark chocolate. The taste is quite light, bitter, earthy, roasted malts, wood, liquorice, umami, leather and peppery spice. Medium body and soft carbonation. A simple, easy-going dark session ale.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2010) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Solid cocoa bitterness in a dry finish. Rather light body, dry and fairly bitter. Nice and highly drinkable stout.
