A hoppy, thirst quenching golden session bitter, with a flowery nose and slightly citrus aftertaste. Our flagship award winning beer.

Cask at the Clarendon Arms, Cambridge. Gold, almost clear. Filmy white head. Buttery aroma with some grain and vinegar. I’m sure this is a newish barrel... Hmmmm... Tastes sweet and buttery. Slight hoppy note in the finish. Really substandard, the high rates are a surprise.

Dobre ale sklaniajace sie ku sredniemu piwu. Srednoi-niewielka piana, ale mimo to trwala. Lekko zamglony zlocisty kolor tego Blond Ale. Cytrusowosc chmielu dosc intensywnie wyczuwalna w nozdrzach, ale i w smaku takze dominowaly te wrazenia. Delikatne i lekkie piwo. Bardzo przyjemnie i zarazem pijalne.

Gravity dispense at the Happy Man Autumn BF, Englefield Green, 11/10/13. Clear golden with a thin off white head. Nose is toasted malts, caramel, rosehip florals. Taste comprises perfumed notes, grass, hint of caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bitter strains in the finale. So so GB.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small, firm, frothy, white head. Grainy aroma with a minimally spicy hay note. Taste is a bit flat, minimally sweet malty and grainy, later with a light and fresh minimally fruity touch, decent hay and bitter hop overtone.

Cask at Lattice House, King’s Lynn
Hazy golden color, creamy head. The aroma is light, with biscuity trace, some diacetyl. Smooth mouthfeel, round too, not as light as expected, with decent malt flavor, strong bitterness, very light lemony trace.
Maybe not very fresh, but pleasant.

Jan 2008: from BA. Brown pint bottle, best before end of June 2008. Very pale for an English bitter and slightly cloudy, it isn’t bottle conditioned but it came out very lively in deed. A huge white head appeared and wouldn’t leave my vase shaped ’Old Speckled Hen pint glass’, I could only pour in about one third of the bottle first time. Very floral and gingery, but in a nice way. This is a very fine beer, it has that rare ability to please me in all aspects of its taste. Bitter, sharp and refreshing, but in the correct understated way an English bitter should. The hop, barley, yeast attributes all combine to produce an almost perfect pint. One of the best British beers from a bottle I’ve had for long, long time.

(Cask at Black Door, 20120228) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had white bread, yeast and hops. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were hops, mild sourness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter. Unbalanced and acrid.

Pale yellow color, small but steady white head. Aroma of citrus and birch leaves. Light bodied. Citrus, woody maltyness. Dry, zesty finish. Quite standard English golden ale.
