Bottle. 2017 vintage. Aroma is oak, bourbon, ash. Flavor shows vanilla, bourbon, and cocoa. Bourbon does not overwhelm the brew and gives a nice warming after the sip. Hints of dark fruits meld with the bourbon. Nice!

Bottle at CBC Islington - thanks to LKS. Cheers bro! It pours near black with a thick beige head. The aroma is rather soft, sweet, slick, oaky filth, vanilla, rocky road, jammy berry and earth. The taste is softer than expected, sweet, slick, oily , toasty brown sugars, cherry cola, vanilla, some alcohol warmth, tangy dried fruits and woody bourbon. Pretty good fun overall.

Bottle shared in London / picked up in the US. Aged a few years. Pours deep brown with a foamy, tan head. The nose has old tobacco, strong roast, aged berries, leather, baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavour, somewhat boozy, with leathery berries, ashy roast. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, with more ash, aged berries, bittersweet cocoa. Good beer.

2010 batc. Small head, no lace. Strong whiskey, slight porter aroma. Flavor’s like nose. I can’t imagine how this was fresh. Not easy drinking at all.
