Classic Gold is a crisp, golden bitter with subtle malt sweetness and a refreshing finish. Extra Pale and Wheat malts provide a smooth base, while a blend of First Gold, Brambling Cross, and East Kent Goldings hops add floral, citrus, and hedgerow fruit notes. Balanced and easy-drinking, with a touch of caramel and a clean, gentle bitterness.

Sounds like a radio station, but drinks like a session golden ale, with a slightly deeper clear golden appearance. Nice and hoppy with a hint of fruit and lower-end bitterness.

Hand pulled half pint on 21st May 2026, in the Waggon and Horses, York. Guess the colour of the beer; it's got a white head too! Floral and light citrus notes to the aroma and taste, lacked oomph, but was OK.

Bottle from Vale Brewery Shop, Brill, Bucks, 29-07-10 Pours gold decent clarity, white a clean head. The nose is sweet & malty with some citrus. The flavour was predominantly toffee but with a little fruit notably citrus, malts and a little too much boiled sweety flavour for me. A6 A4 T5 P3 Ov11 2.9

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2009) Golden colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, citrus and honey. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, biscuits and honey. Below medium body, fairly sweet. Some lemony, floral hops in the finish. Clean and refreshing, hardly exciting.

Cask@GBBF2009. Deep golden colour, not much head. Aroma is pineapple, mango, some wooden notes as well as mild nectary notes. Flavour is quite much the same with focus on wooden and sweet nectary fruity notes.
