A stout like no other. The antithesis of bitter Irish stouts, this is creamy, smooth with underlying chocolate notes imparted by generous amounts of roasted malts and oats. Pours with a dark body and ivory head. It’s a tall, dark handsome pint.

Cask half-pint on 4th Dec 2016 at The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Black bodied, tanned head: proper looking Stout. Mild chocolate and liquorice notes in both the nose and taste, no Tea like esters or flavours for me: just an easy drinking semi-dry Stout. Enjoyed it.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A glossy opaque black pour with a loose tan head; coffee aroma with a touch of chocolate; sweet, sugary malt body; with a dry finish with milky coffee and a hint of licorice.

Cask at The Hopbine, Cambridge, Monday 5th September 2016 Pours almost black in colour, quite cool (temp) but tastes good for being a little cooler. Like a light milk stout, light creamy milkiness, soft mouthfeel, really pleasant beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Sample at the brewery. Smooth great slightly toasted stuff. Round, smooth. Chocolate, refreshing. Not much bitterness, smooth and quite dry. Very nice!
