A pleasant rich citrus bitterness overlies a sweet malty character. Brewed with Maris Otter pale malt, crystal & wheat malts, along with a blend of hops from England & the USA.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is woody resin citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth big citrus fruit caramel woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A super ale with lots of flavour. Perfect for a session. I wouldn’t normally rate a bitter this highly but this beer deserves it.

(Cask at O’Connel’s, Tampere, 20140308) The beer poured nearly mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was small, dense, white and it lasted long. Aroma had toffee, sweetness, earth and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, earth, toffee, malts, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A clean bitter.

Bottle from Tesco drunk at home. Clear mid brown beer with lasting beige head. Not great in the bottle to be honest. Boiled sweet toffee aroma a bit like if it had been pasteurised. Some ok bitterness on the finish definitely and some ok malt. Some fruit. Some decent fruit in the mouth. A bit sweet on the finish. Ok-ish.

Clear brown beer with a tidy cream coloured head. Light crisp palate, semi dry. Light malt reasonably well balanced with bittering hops. However the hops just impart bitterness and not much else. Slight metallic note in the finish.

Bottle that I got from Tesco, consumed at Shrewsbury Folk Festival 27.08.10 Pours mid brown, this a very average bitter, with few redeeming features, fruity, medium sweetness not that hoppy, in fact it’s just fairly boring. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8
