22oz bomber. Very dark amber color with thick creamy tan head. The head doesn’t match the unsinkable quarter inch foam wedge of the draft version. There are roasted, molasses and licorice notes in the aroma. Tasty rich malt flavor of chocolate malts, black patent type burnt malts and sweet molasses.

Bottle. Pitch black pour, tan head that disappeared quick. Pour from bottle only had some of the signature layer of a draft pour.

Pours jet black into a snifter. Slight caramel notes. Off-white head with excellent retention leaves pancake bubbles on the surface. Thin, crisp and dry with roasted caramel and a lasting bitter hop finish. Much better than draft...

From New Brunswick, so likely from Moosehead. Dark black color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt and some light chocolate.

Dark brown in colour, with a thick dissipating light moka head. Sweaty malt aroma, with notes of raisins, fruity, with sulfuric notes. In mouth, acidic, with chocolate and boiled vegetables, light hops, dry and short in mouth. In a blind tasting, i thought this was a schwarzbier. June 2006.

I have to admit that I enjoyed this beer and would drink it again. The roasted malts — both in aroma and flavor — were present but not overwhelming. There was a touch of molasses in the flavor and a touch of bitterness in the finish. Slightly acidic and dry as expected. Low carbonation and thin body.

Bottle. Alright, nothing really overly special. Heavy flavor, but a very nice aroma. Coffee and bitter tastes.

Not bad. Far from what I was expecting and different from the draught sold in North America. Actually a little sour, and there is considerable roasted grain in the flavor. Medium body. Some coffee and choclate.

Yes Guinness. Pours a Great Back with a very nice head. This is the Beer for me. The Blacker the better.

Bottled. It says "Canada" on the bottle, and there’s no widget, so I think this is what I’ve had. My sampler taster is foamy. Standard Guinness black body, probably not a big enough sample to catch the Guiness "cascade." The flavor is nicely soured but offset by driness. Thin coffee notes and a nicely warming roast. Very favorable.
