Back to Black is a dark brown, almost black, beer (9,5 % vol.alc.) that appeals to our imagination. Brewed with an IBU-bitterness of 100, the beer matures on foeder over a period of nine months before reaching it's unique taste.
Taste: This wayward porter brings you the perfect balance between sour- and bitterness.

2020 bottle, huge thanks Nino and Casey for sharing with us! Murky brown body, off-white head. Creamy aroma, a pleasant malty backbone is joined by berry notes, going almost towards classic Flanders red/brown area with the wild/funky notes. Soft, sweet taste, berries, wild/sour notes, extremely smooth, demonstrating more of the similar, with some bitterness (it had subsided already from the 100 IBUs I'd guess), mildly dusty. Very, very well hidden alcohol. It's a bit of a disservice to it to put it in the Imperial Porter category but there you go. A very interesting beer with aging potential!

750ml bottle. Hazy, dark brown colou rwith small to average, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, sulphureous head. Chocolately, dark malty and funky aroma, notes of cocoa, mik chocolate, floral, bretty notes of bubblegum. Taste is dry, tart, tangy, dark malty, hints of cocoa, some vinegar, some bitter hop, white pepper, dry woody overtones. Slightly oily texture, smooth, soft, slightly astringent palate, soft carbonation, lingering, tannic, woody, finish. Very nice nose, slightly cumbrous taste, sadly without maintenance of the floral and bretty flavours.

75cl bottle from Firkin Alehouse Folkestone and drunk at home. Dark brown almost black beer. Lasting tan head. Aroma of a sour old ale. Sour aroma with some dark malt and some dark fruits. Raisins. Malty in mouth with some sweetness then a good balanced sour fruity finish. Good sour blackcurrant and BlackBerry finish. Pretty good.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Murky, dark reddy brown. Open suds of off white head. Nose has sweet balsamic. Sour cherry. Burnt sugar. Old oak. Rich roast malt. Taste is sweet and fruity, with tart, vinous, slightly astringent undertones. Medium body and light astringency helps belie the ABV. Fine carbonation. Lingering tart, and light roast bitterness, to finish. Two pugs and a full moon.
