Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours Clear, red-brown with a soft, foamy head. Lots of dark, ripe fruits in the nose. Medium to big sweet flavor with grapes, raisins (ha, both grapes AND raisins!), booze, faint cocoa, wood. Medium to full in body with soft carbonation. Lightly warming finish with some alcohol notes, lots of dark fruits, prunes, raisins, faint vodka, toast. Ummm. Interesting stuff here.

5th February 2011
Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Clear brown beer. residual tan head. Light dry palate. Sweeeeeet malt! Well integrated sweet candyish red fruits. Trace of toffee. Light dry finish. Bubblegum and jammy fruits aftertaste. This is a bloody sweet beer - and I have a sweet beer tooth but I could imagine this would bee too much for most!

Rerate at the Beacon Hotel 22/6/2024 [4.0]. Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 22/3/08. Deep brown colour with some ruby undertones. Aroma was subdued, with a touch of toffee and dark fruit. The flavour was more assertive with plenty of dark chocolate and fruit, and a hint of sourness in the finish. Good [3.2].
