Originally brewed for the brewery's launch in 1994, Coaster was named after a style of boat which on occasion can be seen plying its trade near our home at Rock on Cornwall's rugged North Atlantic coast. Brewed to 3.6% ABV but with a generous measure of flavour and light golden hue, Cornish Coaster is both moreish and refreshing and the perfect beer to quench the thirst on a hot summers day.

Hand-pulled half-pint (as Sharpes Cornish Coaster) on 2nd Dec 2019 in The Wellington, Birmingham. Golden/amber body, off-white crust. Light maltiness in the nose and taste, mild citrus leanings also. Easy drinking and inoffensive.

Cask @ The Bear, Hodnet. Pours a deep golden amber, small off-white head. Aroma brings mild toffee sweetness that continues to taste, a touch of citrus, resin, but mostly smooth balanced caramel. Fine.

Two halves of cask at the Grandison drunk as "Coaster." A typical golden ale/light bitter. It looked good in the glass, there was a bit of a head and no real aroma. The taste was simple malt and some bitter hops with a pleasant mouthfeel. A nice low abv makes this quite drinkable. Towards the end of the second it was getting a bit "farmyardy" and I wouldn't have wanted another.

An unusual fresh and fine bitter. Very session able.
Clear nutty color. Thin white layer on top. Mild intensity in the aroma. Medium light body and a mellow carbonation level. Decent bitterness. Caramel malt, fruity and herbal flavor.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - slight resin but mostly pale malt. Taste - light grassy, lemon pale malt. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - my score is probably slightly forgiving as it’s the first beer of the day.
