On tap at Trollekelder, Ghent, Belgium. A darkish golden coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Sweet, Belgian bready, yeasty, honey, spice taste/aroma. Pleasant enough but expected a little more from this brewery.

0.75 l bottle from 'Mr. Hop', as 'Gallant Grand Cru Special', best before March 2026. A little hazy, golden with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-floral, slightly yeasty-spicy aroma of lemon peel, elderflower, sage, some banana and light clove. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, rather fruity-floral, gently yeasty-spicy taste of sage, elderflower, lemon peel, gooseberry, grains, hay, banana and some clove, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, quite dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very tasty, refreshing and pleasant ale. Great balance, not too yeasty, nice little twist with the heather which fits in very well. Good!

Bottle picked up from Dranken Vandewoude, Veurne, Belgium. Consumed at home Saturday 1st March 2025 listening to Antony Szmierek - Service Station At The End Of The Universe. We have a Wild Garlic Lasagna for tea tonight (homemade last year and frozen). Pours warm gold with a white head. Nice beer, good amount of oomph, warming from the start and this is what you want from this type of beer. Nice spicy and yeasty edge, soft mouthfeel, there is a fruitiness but it's sweet big malty Belgian loveliness, I think that Achel might be Dutch but regardless it's the style we're hitting here.

Bottle shared by Joen. Clear yellow golden color, full sized fairly quickly diminishing white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, notes of apple quite clearly, sweetish with a bitter-ish hint slightly. Fizzy carbonation, average body, thin texture.
