333ml bottle from a shop in Kawagoe. Dark brown, no haze, fine & lasting head. Dry for an imperial, partly due to plenty of hops. Light caramel notes, I don't get any sweet potato, most likely it's overwhelmed by the high bitterness. I'd even bill it as a dry IPA.

33 cl bottle at Shoryu, Regent St, London, while having a vegan ramen for dinner right before closing time. It pours clean dark copperish with clearly visible bubbles. Tan rocky head that lasts a long time. Aroma is intense and vinous: red flowers, pomegranate, hibiscus, sweet potato (but of course!), clay. Mouthfeel is soft, barely no carb (even though the bubbles were so evident), warm. Taste is sweetish, almost no bitterness.

12/4/2018. Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours red amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, sweet potato, light peppery spice and sugars. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, slight sticky texture, average carbonation. Slightly curious brew, not bad.

Bottle from Hoults Wine Merchants, Huddersfield. Clear amber-brown with an extremely thin head. Mildly sweet, it has rich dark malts that provide plenty of flavour.

On tap at Coedo, Hong Kong. Brownish/amber with a white head. Aroma of grain, some hops and malt. The same in the taste. The finish was sweet.

Bottle. Pours clear brown. Aroma is sweet potato, toasted malts. Body is heavy and sweet, sugar and sweet potato. Maltose. Good carbonation, clearly an amber too. Quite good.

On tap at CRAFT Sukhumvit, pours a hazy chestnut brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out plenty of earthiness from the sweet potatoes, along with soft toffee and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready malt, light sweet potatoes, and earth. Novelty beer - it's not overly pleasant.

Minimal alkoholisch malziger Antrunk, dabei aber kaum süß. Die Bitterkeit wirkt dumpf und bleibt konstant, monoton, süffig. 10/9/8/9//8
