He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head.

In the realm of all that is tart and sour, Jelly King reigns supreme.

Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop, harnessing the prowess of lactic acidity, and coming to a can near you without a pesky slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of immediate gratification.

What it smells like, what it tastes like, what it looks like: Jelly King combines bright and juicy hop aromatics with a refreshingly tart base, and is bursting with notes of fuzzy peach, tangerine, and grapefruit.

(500ml bottle from the Ossington bottle shop) Pours a quite hazy orange-gold with an average white head and spotty lace. Aroma of juicy tangerines, light grapefruit, lactic acidity, soft pit fruit. Flavour is tart, juicy, notes of apricot/peach, tangerine, some biting grapefruit juice, subtle wheaty feel, rather lactic, light pine, very low bitterness. Light to medium bodied, rather soft carbonation. A clearly refreshing brew that quenches with just the right amount of juicy tartness. It's not as vibrantly hop-forward as the pilot Dry Hopped Sour I had last time I was in Toronto. Different hop schedule/batch variation?

En fut au Bar Lupulus. Au nez: agrumes et fruits tropicaux. Un nez de dry hop. Couleur dorée / orangée. Petite mousse.
