Draft at a restaurant in Tokyo. Near black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, malt and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap in a Shibuya restaurant. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a big, lasting frothy, light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light caramel, liqouirce. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty,, light sweet, oaty palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation. The best Guinness I ever had outside of Ireland!

At a Yebisu bar in Kyoto. Delicious creamy head, must be nitro. Dark, Stout color. Very light roasty notes, dry but without as much flavor as I'd like. Coloring to get it that dark??

On tap, at Arcadia in Osaka with my lunch set. It poured a nice black with a foamy tan head. A smooth creamy body revealed mild roast coffee & chocolate notes. It was pretty good, the highlight was the look & mouthfeel while the flavor was somewhat on the light side for a stout.

Sampled at Sapporo harves festival 2009. Light berry roast aroma. Creamy mouthfeel. Light roast coffee, a hint sourmash. Easy drinkable, not super exiting but nice enough.

Draught at McGloughlin’s. Nitrogen. Nice pitch black color, with a light tan head. Rich roasty malt aroma with chocolate and milk. Light flavor of roasted malt, cream, wood. Smooth, silky body. Good enough. Taste a lot like their Black to me, though not quite as lively. A bottom-fermented stout.
