A true rye beer with bold spice character and chewy body. Peppery Columbus, fruity Equinox and herbal Chinook make up the spicy bouquet of this beer. Ginger and pine notes linger reinforcing flavours from the malt backbone.

Draft at the draft house old Street. A hazed dark orange coloured pour with a lasting thin white froth. Aroma is nice fresh grains, tangerine and faint tropical fruits, little pine, biscuity malts. Flavour is composed of solid earthy grains, tangerine, melon, earthy malts, hints of Rye bread. Palate is highish frothy carbonation with a crisp finish, slightly grainy. A pretty well balanced beer, good malt, hop character.

Bottle from Bottle Baron. Hazy amber with a thick off-white head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of melon and caramel. Flavour of dried grass, orange zest and peppery rye. Medium body with a smooth, foamy mouthfeel. Lively fizz. Quite subtle from a Weird Beard beer, but the flavours are well balanced.

Bottle from Bottle Shop, Bermondsey. It pours cloudy orange with a substantial white head. The aroma is spicy, bready, muffin, juicy orange, tangerine, apricot, marmalade and pine. The taste is crisp, assertive bitterness, pine, pithy citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, peppery spice, grassy/herbal accents and bread with a dry, peppery finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Balance works quite well. Pretty tasty stuff.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Kristoffer Wines. Pours unclear orange-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Rindy citrus in the nose, some pine, spicy grains, a little grass. Light to medium sweet flavour with pleasant, semi-juicy citrus fruits, dry pale bread, a little rye accent, some piney and grassy bitterness, plus orange rind, faint grapefruit pith. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with restrained piney resin, mellow earth, orange peel, grainy bread, grass, hay. Pretty solid beer.
