Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Fonta Flora (Nebo, NC), this Czech-style amber lager was conditioned on cherrywood as a nod to their North Carolina roots. Light caramel, marzipan, and a spice-tinged earthiness from Czech Saaz hops intertwine with cherrywood, creating a beautifully balanced profile. With a medium mouthfeel and a crisp, dry finish, Květ 12º is as easy to drink as it is complex.

$5 single from Appalachian, not many options out here. Date stamp was too inconsistent to read.

Pint glass at home. Slow moving magma flow that I didn't realize till I came back to the table. Wipe that up. Dark caramel, translucent pour. Tall & sticky head, dirty lace.
Malty, graham cracker & seasoned Triscuit nose, Saaz all day.
Frothy, bittersweet, decocted treacle-like flavor, albeit dilluted. Dab of caramel. Sharp cherrywood astringency that keeps going. Faded spice. Slight nod to some pleasant oxidation(or is that just more wood?). Lingering bitter flour & spicy Saaz on an off-dry leaning dry finish.

Really bold for such a little guy. If this was more attractively priced, I'd score it higher. Makes me want to nibble on some cheese.

Can from trade with CLW--thanks, Chris! Hazy light brown/dark amber with tons of sparkle, creamy head with excellent retention and tons of soapy lacing. Aroma is lightly toasted malt, strong caramel and toffee, vaguely nutty. Taste is lightly toasted malt, Pilsner malt, bittering hops, toffee, nuts, more wood than cherry. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and dry, yeasty, finish as taste with lingering bitterness. A lot here, especially for ABV.

16oz can pours a murky amber with some cloudy, beige head. Nose has malt, nutty notes, dried leaves and root veg. Crackery, malty in the mouth, some light coffee and some first runnings tea. That is to say it's tannic and long on the finish. Dry. Nice.

Can at home. Exactly my type of brew. Dark mahogany pour and some beige head. Nose is cherry wood and spicy hops. Tastes of caramel, earth, honey, cherry wood, peppery. Smooth and creamy palate. Linger finish of wood and fruit.

Pours clear mahogany into a willi. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Molasses and dark caramel aromas. Medium bodied with dark caramel, lightly toasted multigrain and bitter, earthy wood upfront and into the lasting, dry cherrywood finish. Nice.

16 oz can. A damn near brown color that has amber hues around the edges. Aroma of honey-ish malt, toffee, earth and yeast. Flavor follows with a rich malt depth to it. Mild mineral character. Cherrywood’s definitely there, but subtle in the finish. Definitely let this one warm up a bit and it opens up very nicely.

Schnit pour at the brewery, 3/30/25.
Clear, deep amber-bronze. Large, creamy, light-beige head.
Beautifully clean, mineralesque, lightly fruity and herbal-hopped nose with gentle caramel accents and deep base malts providing honey and biscuit-like notes. Little/no toast.
Soft, round, fruity, creamy, malty and deep. Very little, if any, toast character and instead, the light accents of medium malt provide gentle fruitiness and a hint of caramel. Just how I like my polotmavy. Balanced, flavorful, malty, attenuated. Very mild cherry wood accents providing further complexity.
