Dark brown. Inky pour, no head. Ok, the dark sugars on this are excellent. That's the deep Okinawan black, and the orange comes through well, honestly helping to create a sense of contrast. On the palate, the orange is stronger, the beer lighter, there's bitters aroma, but not as much on the palate. Overall, it's actually got nice dark sugar richness, orange, all this blending well with the chocolate. It's pretty solid. Way too rich and tasty for an old fashioned, mind you, notwithstanding the lack of bourbon character.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Black with minimal beige head. Candied orange peel forward with feint bourbon and dark sugars, touch of the Angostura bitters on the finish. Well made, but a little bit one note. Guessing this was probably Angostura Orange bitters dumped in.

500mL bottle, pours jet black, almost no head. Aroma has tons of orange zest, lots of sugars, and gentle bourbon. Flavour is rich, with intense orange zest, plenty of sugars, a touch of the bitters, and a touch of bourbon barrels. That orange zest and sugars really shine and work well with the strong base. Excellent.

Eoah. Actually smells and tastes a bit like an OF, uncanny. Bourbon, herbals, orange peel, quite a thin body, smooth, good stuff. If you like an OF, try it.

Cloves and dark chocolate on the nose. Dark brown head disipates quickly.
A rich texture with a mix of spicy tastes - cloves, mint, chocolate syrup and a balanced booziness. Sweet but not ove the top. Solid member of the series

Team tasting at CBJ, thanks to Wingman for the bottle. Near opaque dark brown beer, small and short lived tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Terry's chocolate orange vines here, along with cardamom and Christmas spices. A little milk chocolate. A touch of lemon and a little whiskey. Light and semi dry finish brings some alcohol spice. Different and tasty.
