Single from 604. Pint glass at home during beer chats night.
Brown on black, cascading & flimsy malted milk head.
Surprising milky nose, weak roast with lots of unexpected, bold floral notes.
Why is this so floral? Lingering rose water, vanilla, light roast astringency. Minerally. Soapy. It doesn't work. This cherry wood doesn't seem familiar. An extra punch of herbal on the tail.
Medium carb, milky, a bit boozy.
This is wierd.

Cherry wood and Schilling?! Sign me up!
There's a bit of a fruitiness that could easily be the cherry wood, but you'd never know it blind. Cocoa and vanilla mix with base malt to give white bread and honey to balance. Low acidity, low hop, light minerality. Clean and seemingly crisp.
Nice and malty with a floral, woody, cherry-like character and lots of cocoa. Not sure I love the woody floral character of the cherry wood, to be honest, but it certainly is unique and interesting. Regardless, the malt here is fairly deep and satisfying, with the beer drying out on the finish. Super low roast/bitterness. Very drinkable and interesting, for sure.

16 oz can. Aroma is earthy with cocoa and roasted hints. Flavor is similar with bold base malt, and soft sweetness in the finish. Coffee tones. Light mineral character. The mouthfeel has a dryness and ends lightly earthy. Amazing malt depth. Layered flavor.

Nice notes of red apple, toasted bread, caramel, and subtle smoke. Finishes with a gentle floral bitterness and lingering cherrywood smoke into the fade. Tasty.

Draught @ Double Windsor, Brooklyn (Apr 2025). Opaque dark brown with a small foamy tan head, dark roasted malt aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter to bitter caramel-chocolatey mocha taste, smooth body, long finish. Smooth and tasty.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a large foamy tan head. Tmavy malt for aroma. Med body or so. Malty in that Tmavy dark malt way and not dry but not sugary. Bitter in what seems to be grass spice. A nice flavor indeed.

16oz can from Tavour. Very dark brown pour, foamy beige head, streaky lacing. Mild roasty aroma, notes of coffee, burnt toast. Taste is coffee, dark chocolate with very minor bitterness. Smooth as silk, lovely feel
