Imperial Stout Brewed with Coffee
One of our most coveted Nietzschean narratives, Genealogy of Morals, inspires our bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout of the same name. We present to you the opportunity to enjoy the non barrel-aged base beer, simply named Genealogy, brewed with malted wheat and locally-roasted coffee, then conditioned in stainless steel. Dark, rich and smooth, its complex flavors belie the singular vision with which we create it—echoing the work that inspires it.This is the the non barrel-aged version of Genealogy of Morals, conditioned in stainless steel. 750ml bottle shared by luttonm @FrankenBierFest (Rome). Thank you Matt! Pours deep brown with a medium cappuccino head. Aroma of chocolate, light coffee, licorice, molasses. Flavour is rich but a bit unbalanced, medium to heavy sweet with a light bitter end. Medium to high body, medium to low carbonation. Very good beer!

Tasting at Ferris’
Black color, brown head. It’s rich, chocolatey, sweet, roasty, a bit coffeish. Smooth and elegant, delicious.
Quote from the fat guy sitting next to me "it irritates me how good Hill Farmstead beers are".
Just divine.

Bottled 2.10.16.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a black color with a slim less than finger’s white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace.
The smell had a nice crisp to sweet to bitter to roasty coffee/cocoa bean blissful sweetness. Light vanilla opens up the aroma nicely.
The taste was moderately sweet with a delicate roasty, slightly wheaty/grainy flavor. Light grainy sweet roasty coffee aftertaste. Dry sweet wheaty/grainy finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice sweet/roasty balanced texture to feel. Good sipper, almost sessionable.
Overall, I dig the wheat that HF put in this to give a bit more body and \"oomph\" that a lot of people tend to look for. Coffee portion gives a really nice aroma and taste. I’d have again.

Bottle big thanks to Leighton. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, chocolate, rocky road, earthy, pepper, sticky and umami. The taste is slick, bitter - sweet, chewy malt, fruity, dark berry action, jam, syrupy, earth and dull spice with dry, sweetish finish. Medium - full body, fine carbonation and slick mouth - feel. Decent.

Bottle shared in honour of Daniel’s 5K - picked this one up at the brewery. Pours rich black-brown with a dense, lasting creamy beige head. Well roasted malts in the nose, hearty chocolate, suggestions of dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with smooth coffee, bittersweet chocolate, scorched earth, moderate alcohol, raisins. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation and massaging texture. Lightly warming on the finish with rich, gooey chocolate, decent roast, burnt sugars, brown sugar, more raisins, fig. Great stuff.

Bottle split at the level 42 tasting, massive thanks to HF Peddler LKS, 09/03/16. Pitch black with a dirty tan covering that thins to a swirl and edgeing. Nose is roast malt, light coffee, charr, tar, molasses, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, molasses, light grain, spice, roasted malt, toasted brown sugar, fruit cake pang. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light rising alcohol. Decent impy but not top draw.
