8 Wired’s interpretation of a New Zealand hopped pale ale can best be described as Tropidelic! With plenty of exotic fruit flavours from three Kiwi (one one Aussie) hops, it’s an island orchard of fresh fruit salad but with the characteristic 8 Wired touch of balance.

330ml bottle. Look - slight hazy dark gold, small white head, ok retention. Aroma - malts and orange citrus, passionfruit and mango. Taste - a nice mix of the malts, tropical and orange notes, with a clean zesty tang and a moderate bitterness which offsets the sweetness. Well balanced. Palate - medium body, good bite, soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

[33cl bottle from Beer52.] A bright amber pour with a billowing white head; tropical fruit aroma; prickly in the mouth with a fruit salad taste and a firm malty body; then a softly bitter finish. Rather good.

330ml bottle into an old Grimbergen chalice at my parents on 11th Feb 2020. Slight haze to the golden body, decent white blanket on top. Fruity aroma, stone fruits mostly. Taste also fruity and fairly dry in nature, crisp and well carbonated, this is fine.
