Bottle at Craft Islington, thanks to the Wingman. It pours black with a thick tan head. the aroma is toasted, earth, dried fruits, fruit cake, plum, date, fig pudding and treacle. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, mellow alcohol warmth, caramel, treacle, roasted malt, toast, cocoa, spice and umami. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good for the style.

Bottle at RB London Meet. Dark brown color, small off-white head. Licorice, toasted malts in the nose. Medium-bodied. Sweet licorice, malts, caramel. Sweetish doppelbock lacking German hop character but allright.

Bottle brought back from a recent portland trip #reachtehbeach Black, thin pour. Smoot malt flavors, modest roast and a little smoke. Light and quick. Lacking the body I was hoping for.

Bomber. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. 8%! Clear, deep copper colour. Film and halo of sticky, light tan head. Nose has toasted grain. Brown sugar. Caramel. Sweet, dark fruits. Notes of dark chocolate. Hint of bonfire toffee. Taste is fruity sweet. Some earthy dryness. Some tangy, vine fruit bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Fairly robust. Some roast malt character comes through toward the end, complementing the sweetness nicely. Not a style I normally get excited about, but I liked this one.
