Sampled @ 10th Danish Ratebeer Gathering, Ulfborg, Day 2. Opaque pitch black color, small light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, a bit dusty, earthy. Taste malts, nice mellow roast, dark malts, mellow bitter finish. Nice one, not as alcoholic a most other Black Damnations are. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Nice.

Tan-foxy rim over black beer. Bit of green leaves, liquorice, black chocolate, intense aromas. Short alcoholic onslaught, then black chocolate, husks, black cardamom and a fruity sweetness. Very well-bodied, slick, viscous as none, alcoholwarming. Excellent; the Calvados is there, but does not dominate. 8/4/9/4/17

Thank you kraddel & tderoeck! Sampled draft @ VCBF 2017. Black, dark mocha only small rim on the sides, looks like the others of the currently released series. Smell is sweet molasses, bit herbal, bit less boozy than some of the others, molasses, sweet barrel. Taste is boozy molasses, maple, sugar molasses, sweet boozy oak, sugar. Boozy molasses syrup body. Rounder than some of the other ones. Good but feels closer to modern Black Albert than the old series, I assume that age took away the complexities. Nice but not the heights of yore. Still good stuff take on its own, not for how much a bottle of this costs.
