Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2015. Clear dark brown beer. Not much condition. Some dark toffee some chocolate. ok interpretation of a modern dark mild. Fine. Some malty interest.

Cask @ The London Bar, Llandudno [290115]
Very dark brown, dense beige head
Aroma of very soft roast, soft malts
Taste of soft roast, dab of bitter plain chocolate, soft light bitter hops, bit dry bitter
Palate - Thin body. Finish is a bit dry, soft bitter roast
Overall - Rather too thin and weak, suffers due to the very low abv

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is malt, yeast and lots of badness. The flavour is light bitter with a light watery malt yeasty, light medicinal palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Way too light and lacks body. It was approaching the end of the cask too.

Cask at the brewery. Dark brown in colour. Raisins, caramel and some roasted notes in the aroma. Fruity, roasted and slightly sweet taste with raisins, caramel and cocoa detected.

Hand-pulled pint in the front bar of Loggerheads, Shrewsbury on 19th Dec 13. Dark brown with a ruby hue, on top an off-white blanket of foam. Malts in the nose and taste: subtle (or weak depending on your stance) rather than strong or powerful. I had to re-visit the pump-clip to check the ABV, it wasn’t a surprise when I saw it was 3.1%. A bit too thin in every aspect/department: it lacks oomph and depth throughout.

Pint at the Loggerheads, Shrewsbury. Pours a coffee colour with a very mild cool taste. Ultimately rather tame with subtle liquorice and a hint of chocolate.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise - London. Pours deep red-brown with little in the way of a head. Aroma holds mostly ripened dark fruits. Light sweet flavor with more ripe and dark fruit character, some hints of chocolate, a bit of dirty earth bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely toasted malts to finish, dirt, charry leaves, dried and leathery fruits. Decent mild.

A weak textured mild ale, but releases a decent subtle flavour that’s worth a look.
