Dark brown. Lightly toasty aroma with a deep fruitiness. Alcohol hits hard in the finish, cutting through some of that fruitiness. A bit thin, amazingly.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 33B/20C). Bottle 75 cl (Batch 171349030112 - BBF unknown - Bottled on 03/04/2017). AROMA: medium whiskey barrel notes, with a vinous alcoholic character. APPEARANCE: pitch black color and opaque. no head. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium whiskey barrel, wood, vinous, slight vanillin. low background of roasted malt (coffee and slight dark chocolate). medium bitterness with a dry and slightly roasty finish. PALATE: medium body with very low to no carbonation. soft alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: a barrel aged imperial stout with muted notes from the base beer, derived from excessive barrel aging. the lack of carbonation further penalizes the beer.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is a bit musty, with light oak, and a touch of roast. Flavour is vert English-tasting, with toffee, bready malt and light oak. Not the most complex or rich of flavours, but it's not bad.

750 ml bottle. Pours oily black with light head. Aromas of licorice, soya, molasses, black coffee and slick roasted malts. Rich flavors follow same with lots of oily vanilla, chocolate liqueur and smooth roasted malts.

75 cl bottle. #915 pitch black, smooth brown head. aroma is roasted malts, a little bit funky belgian yeasty, wood and booze. quite rounded and mellow, i think it's been on those barrels for some time. fainter licorice and chocolate. flavor is roasted malty, dark caramel, faint dark dried fruits, wood, licorice, very well blended a little bit watery on the palate, not sweet at all, quite decent imperial stout, except it seems a little bit watery on the palate... flavor is not watery at all, fairly heavy.
