A beguiling ale, this stout’s enticing cocoa aromatics build to a flavorful crescendo of full bodied dark chocolate, subsiding with a pleasantly sweet, tart raspberry jam laced finish. Bottle, TTOD(U)RBSG17. Black, beige froth. Good raspberry aroma, cocoa, light smoke? Roast, choc and raspberry flavour. Bitter and quite dry.

Bottle, 9.2%. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, raspberries and caramel. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, raspberries, sweet, berries, hops and medium bitter.

Sampled @ The Tenth Official Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2017, Day 1. A black beer with a mid-sized most good lasting tan head. Aroma of raspberries, dark roasted malt, coffee, not too sweet. Taste of sweet dark malt, raspberries, chocolate, mild roasty bitter finish.

8 3 8 3 16 Bottle shared at Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering ’17. Very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of raspberries, chocolate, caramel and toffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are raspberries, roast malt, chocolate, caramel, coffee and hops. Nice fruity finish.

Bottle @ Fonefan Summer Gathering. Black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa and raspberries. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 180817

Bottle from GBBF 2017 and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. i can smell the raspberry as i poured it. A lot of raspberry on the aroma. Initially its got a lot of raspberry chocolate sponge flavour. Seems to continue that way. I mean its a big bottle. And 9% abv. Question is can i still drink it at end of the second glass. Fruit is well integrated. Maybe just a little dominant. To be honest its been consistent from start to finish. Maybe the booze comes through more later. Decent.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a black color with a thick finger’s worth of off white to almost tan head. Dissipates at a nice even pace. Light messy lacing.
The aroma starts with the cocoa and coffee roasty beans. Raspberry develops as it warms.
The flavor wraps it all up tightly with a crisp tart red raspberry. Sweet and roasty notes combine nicely. Well blended tart to sweet and roasty aftertaste. Quick dry finish.
On the palate, this sat about a medium on the body with a sipping quality about it. Low carbonation. Refined tartness to allow semi-smooth capabilities rolling over my tongue.
Overall, actually thought I had this in here, not sure why I found that I didn’t. Glad I did and would love to have again if possible.
