On tap at Chuckanut, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out toasted chestnuts, some vegetal notes, bready malt and dry dark fruits. Flavour is fairly sweet and very malt-heavy, with caramel, dark fruits and vegetal notes. Authentic and well-constructed for the style. Solid.

On Tap at the Bellingham brewery Rich very dark brown, nearly black. Lasting creamy light tan head and lacing, Smooth mild dark roast flavors with a few hints of coffee and campfire. Surprisingly refreshing is right, esp considering the style.

Draught at the brewpub
Dark brown color, almost black. Dark caramel character, no roastiness; this is a good balanced Dunkel rather than a Schwarzbier, with some residual sweetness.
Clean, good, uncomplicated.

Blond color, clean. The malt has a mild hay and cereal character, the mouthfeel is mellow, a bit too sweet, I canβt get much noble hop, besides a light grassy touch.
Not a Landbier, just a clean but simplistic Lager.
