On tap at Nydalen Bryggeri. A reddish light brown beer with a small, dense light beige head. The aroma has some fruityness, a touch of caramel malts and some grassy hints. Caramel, a faint roasted touch and some fruityness in the flavor. Lacking a bit on bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry. Malt dominated finish. Pretty boring this one, far from bad though. 140502

On tap at Nydalen Bryggeri. An orange beer with a small, dense, off white head. Peaches, citrus peel and a little malty touch in the aroma. A bit high carbonation, but it fits the beer. Medium to full body, semi sweet. Peaches and orange peel, and a nice bitterness in the flavor. Orangey finish with some bitterness and a little malty sweetness. Pretty decent this one, easy drinkable too. 140502

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy yellow-golden beer with a dense finger-thick white head. The aroma has quite a lot of pale malts, some citrus peel, grass and pine cones. Medium to thin on the palate, dry and with a nice carbonation level. Pale malts, some citrus peel and pine cones and a decent bitterness in the flavor. Short finish with a nice bitterness. Well, decent it is, but nothing more. 140502

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy dark golden beer with a small, off-white head. Some curtains. The aroma has peaches dominating, with some pine cones and light caramel malts. Caramel malts in the back, with resins, pine cones and peaches. Quite low on bitterness all the way. Medium body and soft carbonation. Short fruity-sweet finish with some bitterness. A messy one, lacking big time on balance and moreishness. 140502

On tap at Crowbar. A dark beige head of moderate size sits on top of a murky brown body. Nice lacings. The aroma is piney and orangey, with roasted malts and cocoa and some chocolate. Nice bitterness in the mouth, with a soft carbonation and a medium to full body. Quite dry. Roasted flavor with some caramel and cocoa. Lasting finish with quite a lot of canned peaches. Sure a decent one. 140501

250ml nicely served from tap in a tulip shaped glass at Amundsen Bryggeri og Spiseri. Low patchy surface to a near-black body. Fragile lacing. Mild aroma of earthy malts and dark honey. Honeyed dark malty taste, ashy dry. Rounded roasted ending. Fine bodied. Quite alright if not that convincing. (Oslo 23.04.2014).

Appearance: Deep dark and subtle red color with a frothy thick off white head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Roasted malt, dark malt and mild honey.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Chocolate, coffee, caramel, mild pleasant honey and roasty.
Overall impression: Very well balanced, tasty and nice. I had my wonders about honey…..it was superb and well integrated. Really lovely stout.
