Dark golden with a white head - solid hoppy aroma - taste olso has a lot of hops with malt in the back to balance the bitterness - lingering hop finish - good

Tap @ Amundsen, Oslo. This is a deep deep brown-red beer with a thin and quickly sidesticking beige head. The aroma is both roasted and heavy on the chocolate! More notes of some fruity black currants and a little smoke. Not to much, but a nice touch absolutely. Average carbonation on this, it's medium bodied and the mouthfeel is light oily to watery. Lots more smoke in the taste! Tons more than in the aroma. Also some roasted malts, chocolate, thin coffee and perhaps even some dark fruits. It has a nice and quite lingering both smoky, roasted and chocolate-aftertaste. Quite nice stuff, but it would have been even better if it had a bit more body.

Tap @ Amundsen, Oslo. This is a deep deep reddish brown beer with a small but lasting creamy and sidesticking light chocolate head. The aroma is nice and yeast-fruity with notes of ripe honey-melon, lots of pear and some apple juice and apple zest. Strange stuff, and not quite as expected. Soft carbonation and it has a medium thick and oily mouthfeel. The flavors are unfortunately totally off. Light infection perhaps? Lots of sour and fruity notes, light roasted soap blended with old dark licorice medicinal tones. Some light roasted and bitter hints towards the finish, but I think this might be a bit off.

Two tasters on tap at Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri. Clear and deep amber body colour. Fading head, fragile lacing. Aroma of resinous hops. Partially tart oranges in flavour offset by sweet malts. Dry and dark bitter ending. Medium bodied. Works quite well (Oslo, 26.09.2011).

Three tasters, each 100ml, draught at Amundsen. Fawn-coloured, lacing-head at the top of coal-black body. Moderate smell of smoked malts and leafy hops. Careful peaty taste with chocolate malts and liquorice. Dusty dry ending. Likable, maybe the best I have had at the brewpub so far (Oslo, 26.09.2011).
