330ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Deep golden-brown coloured body to a firm, fawn-coloured head slowly diminishing while leaving nice lacework behind. Mild aroma of nuts, caramel and earth. Flavours of salty liquorice balanced by caramel malts, cinnamon, and grainy chocolate. Medium bodied. A pretty nice, standard Norwegian Yuletide brew (Tromsø 20.12.2014).

500ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Clear dark brown body. Dotted spots from a vanishing beige head. Dried fruity nose with dark malts. Taste of dark caramel, star anise, cinnamon and prunes. Sweet ending. Rather easy to drink. Alright, quite sweet and unvaried (shared with friends, Tromsø 08.11.2014).

0.33l bottle. This one pours a deep amber/bronze colored body with a thin shattered islandy off-white head. On the nose it's quite mild caramel-metallic with some nuts. Generic caramelly I'd say. Feeld mild oily textural in the mouth and it's about average on the carbonation. Sweet and dark caramel in the taste. Some hints of red apple and apple skin. Mildish. A tad boring. 0.33l bottle shared. This is a mildly ruby colored one with a small lightly sidesticking beige head. Smells quite malty with a mild caramel sweetness and hints of dark malts. Also something that reminds me of dry ginger powder, but that's most likely the curry on the kettle... Mild metallic, a faint dry dustiness in the taste. Sorta earthy. About average on the carbonation and mild oily in the mouth. Quite dull and what I will call typical generic and quickly forgotten. Not horrible though! 15.11.2014

Clear dark brownish color with some ruby notes and a off white head. Looks really nice. Pleasant aroma. Caramel, some spices and mild fruity. Medium + body. Fine balance between sweetness and bitterness. Nice mellow flavor with some spices, mild fruity and toffee/caramel. Absolutely a decent Norwegian dark bock.
