330 ml bottle. Re-rating. Tasted in December 2017. Nothing super complex, but well made. Find it more interesting than most macro Christmas 4,7% beers as the classic caramel bomb flavor is mostly replaced with a more interesting chocolate malt flavor. A bit closer to a classic British porter or something in that direction. Not bad at all.
Old rating: Clear copper brown body with a medium sized off-white head. Moderate aroma of caramel, dry fruit and toast. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, toast and some fruit, low bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Not bad really, pretty decent for a grocery shop macro Christmas beers, still not very interesting.

Bottle, as Sagene Sterk Jul. Pours brown, with a small creamy head. Aroma is sweet roasted caramel malts with grain and burned sugar, as well as some chocolate. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is caramel malts, grain and kandi. Not really bad, just utterly boring.

Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer
Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and some dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. A clear mahogany colored beer topped by a small, beige head. The aroma is mostly on the caramel side, with a spice-like touch, grassy and piney hops and some bread, nuts and toffee. Hints of alcohol too. It’s full-bodied and softly carbonated, semi-sweet and lightly warming. The warmth coming stronger in the swallow. Caramel and some dried fruits as well as nuts, bread crust, toffee, brown sugar and a piney and touch of freshly mown grass. Decent bitterness. Lasting finish. Not a beer for your Christmas dinner, but it wouldn’t be bad for dessert or cookies. 151207

Helt grei, innenfor typedefinisjonen, men uten at den rager over andre øl.

Bottle. A crystal clear dark golden to copper colored beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. Some lacing. The aroma has a solid dose of caramel, with some bread and fruit and pine in the back. Caramel, some roasted notes and a good fruityness in the flavor. Some pine cones and a little bitterness too. It’s dry and medium bodied, with a decent carbonatoion level. Caramel, bread and a touch of fruityness in the back. Not bad this one, at least it’s clean. But dead boring. 151124

33cl bottle from Gulating ølutsalg, Larvik. Pours pale golden with a small, white head. Mild grainy aroma with some slightly fruity notes and hints of hops. Moderate sweet, mild in flavour and a fairly light bitterness. Not very interesting, but still drinkable.

Boks 330ml. Gave fra Yngvar. Drukket på Nerstranda 25 Okt 15. Veldig lysebrungul. Middels høyt skum med litt lacing. Aroma av blomster. Smaken svakt syrlig. Litt plommer. Ellers anonym.
