12oz shorty bottle. Quite dark for the style, a thick, murky amber-brown. Sweet brown sugar and earthy hop aroma. Big fluffy head, steady. Somewhat mellowed by the thick yeast, this an excellent beer. The bitterness isn’t really over-the-top in my opinion, rather it works well with the big body, leaving some sweet sticky residue in the aftertaste. Solid malt notes, almost reminiscent of a strong brown ale at times. A very nice surprise from Pearl Street, worth seeking out.

I didn’t realize this was organic until I logged in to enter the rating. Black, with some sludge. Aroma has roasted malt and grain. A lot of malt in the flavor as well, with grain, and some coffee and chocolate. Heavy palate, and very smooth. Probably the best organic beer I have had.

Draft at the OF. Filtered brown-orange color. Big, thick head. Dry, seawater bitter aroma. Smooth medium body with a solid crisp hoppiness. Earthy bitter finish. Somewhat soapy, pale dry malt taste. Good, but not great.

Draft at the OF. Dark orange-brown, semi-translucent/transparent. Looks filtered out a bit. Big foamy head. Rich brown malt flavor, quite malty and rich. Sweet, with some slight bitterness to round out the brown sugar taste. Pretty standard in some respects, but still acceptable. Does the job.

12oz shorty bottle. Opaque black with a beige-brown head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, somewhat thin and watery but still full of flavor. The oats add some depth to the otherwise mildly bitter chocolate flavor. There is a slight acidity, but it works itself into balance well. Slight traces burnt malt or vegetable in the aftertaste. Definitely not your middle of the road stout, resides in the bitter and earthy portion of Stoutville. Worth a try for sure.

Copper color and a moderate sized head. Moderate hop aroma. Flavor has a bread dough, malt flavor and medium bitter hops. Drinkable, and pretty solid for a session pale ale.

On draught at the Freight House in La Crosse. Pours dark brown with a medium thin beige head that lasts pretty long. Nutty, malty aroma. Medium-bodied (a little watery at times) and smooth with an earthy malt flavor, along with notes of chocolate and nuts. The flavor is not very pronounced though. The finish is thin with sweet malt and caramel flavors. Fairly average overall.
