About
The Brooklyn Brewery started with a dream to return brewing to Brooklyn, once a powerhouse of American beer production. Today our beers travel to more than half the United States and over thirty countries. Our James Beard Award-winning Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and his team brew everything from classic styles to bold experiments and collaborate with brewers, innovators and artists from around the globe. We’ve met wonderful people in remarkable places, and we can’t wait to show everyone what’s next.

In 2016, Brooklyn Brewery sold 24.5 percent to Kirin, Japan’s second-biggest brewer. The partnership allowed Brooklyn Brewery to use Kirin’s distribution arm to sell in Japan and Brazil.

A bit overly sweet, with a big bubblegum-like flavor that I tend to notice in some scotch ales that always puts me off - lots of dark fruits like plum and raisin - a bit thin, especially in the finish.

Milky yellow. Rather candyish weisse. Banana flavors present though. Sparkly mouthfeel.

Light cloudy brown. As far as I can determine it right now almost an exact copy of Aventinus, maybe slightly more fruity and with a almondy aroma and taste.

Truly remarkable that I had not gotten around to rating this beer before now for I have had this beer dozens of times over the years and it remains a favorite. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this fine brew pours a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is sharp with floral hops. The flavor is full of dark malts with a hint of chocolate and solid flowery hops with a undertone of light fruity hops. There is a hoppy and faintly chocolaty finish. An American classic for such a widely available beer in my book.

Draft. Dark brown with tan head. Aroma of yeast and roasted malts. Nice flavor of coffee, chocolate, grains and sweet malts. Good carbonation. Hint of hops.

Bottle. Dark amber, malty burnt caramel aroma, some hop aroma, very carbonated in mouth with toffee flavours, some hop toffee finish. Not too sweet thankfully 3.3/5 Re-rate. I love the hops on this now. Just wonderful. I don’t get the toffee so much nor was it over carbonated. I must like it as I bought two bottles in quick succession from Tesco.

12 oz bottle-pours a deep off white creamy head. Color is amber. Nice taste, no complexities, just a good ale.

Clear orange golden color, short head. Nice aroma of hops, quite floral and flowery. Taste is bitter, dry, caramel malt. I like these kinds of beers. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lager on 14 Jul 2017 at 06:57 - Score: 6
