Sampled from the tap at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Pours near black with a dark fluffy brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a combination of dark grains, roasted malts and earthy pine. Flavor is dark grain forward with earthy pine and roasted malts in the finish.

Sampled from the Firkin at Happy Gnome Firkin Fest 2015. Pours a hazy peach with a slight pink hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aorma has a really nice tart raspberry with some sweet grains and a hint of biscuit. Flavor has nice raspberry up front with a grain and biscuit finish.

Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours a clear chestnut orange with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of onion with a bit of pine underlying and some sweet grains. Flavor is onion forward as well with some sweet grains and pine underlying.

Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours a hazy deep amber orange with a bubbly off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light smoke and bourbon notes with a bit of underlying sweet grains. Flavor has light smoke a good amount of bourbon and a toffee and sweet grain backbone.

Pours a slightly murky dark orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and roast malt. Medium to full body with flavors of grapefruit, earthy hops and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short piney hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours a clear copper/amber in color with a nice white head. Aroma is of lemon citrus and pine. Taste is grain, lemon, light malt. and resin. Tastes right & it’s easy goin’ down, but rather forgettable overall.
