On tap at Lake Placid Pub & Brewery. After 9 hours of hiking up to summit of Mt Marcy I was in desperate need of a beer. Pours dark reddish brown with a thin head. taste is of strong malt, with some smoke and slightly bitter. Palate is slightly sticky but overall quite enjoyable.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 2 Mar 2010) Dark reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty, slightly nutty nose with notes of chocolate and caramel. Malty, nutty taste with chocolate, dark bread, toasted grain and a gentle, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Well balanced and nice beer with alcohol well hidden.

in bottle @ GIBF, really nice IPA from a brewer that I am liking more and more. not overbearing, just the right amount of body and character, could use a little more citrus to combat the pine taste, but very nice.

Draught at the New York Wine and Culinary Center. Dark brown with a winey red glow. Big nose of toffee, coffee, chocolate; rich and fragrant, with a big of dried fruits. Chocolate, coffee flavor, bitter and well roasted with rather light body and a big, bitter finish. Very pleasant.
