Description
The Brew Bus fermented in 2011 when our Founder Anthony Derby was a student at The University of Colorado. When he tried to visit 3 breweries in one day he quickly realized the need for a transportation service. In 2012 we started brewing our own craft beer under the simple mission to make high quality beer that we like to drink. Today, the good times continue to roll with our own independent brewery and tasting room.

Quite hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a very large, six to seven centimetre tall, super soapy tan head that leaves a horrible ugly lace on the side of the glass. Aroma of (I can't believe it - not tongue in cheek as the fruit isn't common) actual gooseberries with some kumquats and a nice floral and citrusey hop bite that smells quite bitter, in a good way. Medium-bodied; Strong rich bitter flavour from the kumquats and some of the grapefruit flavours shine through along with a dash of grain and flowers, with a bit of grass and yeastie funk towards the end. Aftertaste shows a large hop and citrusey bitterness with a herbal hop characteristic toward the end having a noticeable alcohol warmth and some softer fruits that balance out the lighter malts. Overall, a nice offering with some gooseberry flavours (not in just the text from the can) along with some citrus and good hop characteristics, all balanced well and providing a slightly old school IPA with a good citrus flavour throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 19-April-2019 for US$2,37 sampled at home in Washington after watching the Washington Nationals Championship Parade on 02-November-2019.

[12oz can from Total Wine, Naples, Fl.] A hazy straw coloured pour with a thick cream head; weak aroma of citrus and pineapple; fuller bodied with a sour pineapple taste to start, morphing strangely in to a piney, woody, dry finish. Not the best IPA.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear dark copper-red color with a giant khaki foam head and stubborn/annoying retention. Spotty lacing. Light caramel aroma. Sweet caramel malt (and vanilla?) flavor up front with a light smoke finish. Very smooth and clean. Nice balance of flavors. Very good. Very repeatable.
