Description
The Brew Bus fermented in 2011 when our Founder Anthony Derby was a student at The University of Colorado. When he tried to visit 3 breweries in one day he quickly realized the need for a transportation service. In 2012 we started brewing our own craft beer under the simple mission to make high quality beer that we like to drink. Today, the good times continue to roll with our own independent brewery and tasting room.

Can Pours dark, almost opaque brown with a tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder. Lightly sweet, not much other chocolate flavors going on. Maybe some salty in the finish?

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a cloudy bright golden color with a huge fluffy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was floral, fruity and piney hops and was somewhat bitter. The flavor was bitter and tangy with floral, tropical and fruity hop notes. Long tangy tropical fruit finish. Medium body. Solid.

Uh what? First can gusher I’ve ever seen and then just as a poured barely 2 oz into a shaker glass, the foam filled entire glass all the way to the rim! So I’m just gonna wait and keep pouring. Another 3 oz nearly overfills the glass with foam. What’s in the glass so far is a cloudy orangey-red color, and the head has a peachy type tint. A few minutes have gone by and the head has subsided a bit more, so back I go for a 3rd pour: I can feel I’ve got about half the can out, and there’s a peak of thick foam riding the glass, which is just under half full of beer. Trying to get some hint of the aroma as I wait, I’m not sure what to think. One of my first reactions was of the stink of malt liquor dregs in a can found in a trashcan by a softball diamond on an August day in Central Indiana, circa 1979. There’s a distinct tomato juice component as well. Yeasty/doughy. 4th pour. I guess there’s a fruitiness there too, though it’s vague and doesn’t remind of blueberries in the least. 5th pour, I precariously forced the rest of the can into the glass, managed to avoid a spill. Might be a few minutes before it subsides enough for me to start drinking. I’m a little afraid. Now that’s the glass is full, and the beer sits darker in the glass, a darker red starts to show. OK here goes. Oh, that’s not so bad. Fruitiness is more apparent, again it only touches at blueberry. There’s definitely a sweet-tart-tannic-graininess at the finish that reminds of malt liquor. Lighter body and heavy carbonation save it from being a fruity version of Schlitz ML. Tolerable.

Enjoyed from can at Browerij Lane in Brooklyn, NY before going to a show at St Vitus which I have no good reason for being at. Appearance is a very cloudy golden amber with a rich white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is rich in citrus hops, wheat notes, but really citrus is the dominating factor. Taste is good, but real citrusy. Almost a little too much citrus. Happy to have had this though!

Location: 12 oz can from Syosset Beverage, 11/5/14

Aroma: The nose is heavy sweet/caramel, with some underlying earthy notes as well
Appearance: This one pours a clear orange-brown color with a sheeting beige head and mid lace
Flavor: Heavy sweet taste as well, fairly one-dimensional caramel, light roast and light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with a cloying feel, and an off finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: Nope, this can't have been what they were going for. This thing just gets way too cloying for anyone's good. Next time, remind me to pass...

Can from Whole Foods Market, Bowery, New York, NY. A hazy golden coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, pine aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, citrus, pine, some tropical fruit, spice and really mellow. Really nice easy drinking IPA.
