Bottle, 75cl, as Simpatico. A clear, golden beer under a small off-white head. Malty, bready nose with a roasted hint. Fruity hops and citrus-peel and alcohol as well. Malty and bready flavor too, with resiny hops and sweetness. Full-bodied and warming. Lasting bitter finish with sweetness. The alcohol is too evident in this one and it somehow feels a bit one-tracked, still it’s a good example. 090822

330ml bottle at Monks CafΓ©, Wallingatan. Slightly brownish head filled with lots of small dimples. A reddish tint to a very dark brown body. Rather inviting mid-sweet aroma of earthy malts and dark fruits. Sweet, and a bit diluted caramel malts in flavour added by brown sugar. Has got its moments, but gets too sweet and unvaried after a while. A roasted bitterness is almost missing (Stockholm, 01.09.2009).

courtesy of ibrew2or3. Highly underrated BW. pours amber, dark head. Aroma of caramel with hints of herbs Flavor, caramel, spices, malts finish had some possible sourness to it hinting to tartness. Some elements are well done while some of the BW aspects are a little to be desired.

750 mL courtesy of kp. Pours deep gold with copper core and tall off white head. The aroma is a bit spicy and mixes with the additional notes of apricot and mildly musty sweet malts. The taste begins with slick sweet malts and sweet apricots. It then gets a bit more fruity with apricot skin and apple skin tartness mixing with plenty of malty and fruity sweetness. The hops seem to show up with some late addition to the boil spice hop flavor and a dash of earthiness.
