Had this at Rioja in Denver, 11/21/2015. Pours brown-black. Nice coffee aroma to it, with some caramel and herbal notes, Flavor is coffee and earthy flavors mostly with some other malty notes coming through. Solid mouthfeel. Tasty beer overall.

Can. Clear amber brown color. Cocoa and coffee aroma. Taste has lightly toasted caramel on brown bread dipped in coffee with a bit of chocolate. OK.

Tap at the brewery - Jesus, Renegade - I used to like visiting you and I enjoyed a lot of your products - now every time I come you just have adjunct-laden monstrosities on tap - take this beer, for example - why in the fuck would you put vanilla in a kolsch? - granted, this isn’t as bad as your salt water taffy gose, but man - at least the texture is nice - overall it is clean, and has a nice grassy hop character on the tail end - but then you had to go and add vanilla - you couldn’t leave well enough alone - you could have had a decent, clean kolsch on your hands - instead, you’ve got something that tastes and smells like vanilla and not much else - oh vey - it’s a damn shame, because there honestly seems to be a pretty decent kolsch hiding under here.

Tap at the brewery during GABF week, 2015. Coconut in the aroma with wheat. Dark brown color, good palate and a nice, lazying head. A little sweet. Strange beer with the coconut.

Tap at the brewery during GABF week, 2015. Copper color, lacing head. A simple beer, but they nailed the rauchbier style with the smoke in the aroma and flavor and dry malt flavor as well.

Tulip at the brewery - black pour - overall a very sweet and boozy beer - the barrel takes over and washes out a lot of the complexity I enjoy in the base beer - sweet chocolate, smoked, charred barrels, coconut, and strong whiskey - kind of regret order 10 ounces - don’t think I’ll be finishing it.

Tap at the brewery - what the FUCK! - I should have known to avoid this based on the description - orange cream Gose? - I mean, Jesus, they added vanilla extract to this motherfucker - it really does smell like orange saltwater taffy, but also sweat, so...yea - a little salty up front, but this is followed by vanilla and orange soda flavors - finishes tasting like soggy corn pops cereal - god fucking dammit - you know what, Renegade, I’m not mad - I don’t blame you - you warned me with the description - I blame myself.
