Description
We started brewing in Burton-Upon-Trent in 1834. Then in 1898 we got itchy feet. So we moved down the road to the Albion brewery. We still like it so we’ve not moved again since.

We came to Burton for the water. Well, for the rocks the town was built on to be precise. The water trickles down through a thick layer of gypsum before we bring it back up again through our well. That’s what gives our beers the depth of flavour, character and crisp refreshing bitterness that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Cask at Brighton Racecourse. Pours a hazy orange colour with a thinnish white head. Taste is pretty good with a touch of citrus. Nice for low abv.

500ml bottle from Morrison's: BB 31st Oct 2021. Drank at home while losing at cards on 2nd May 2021. Clean and clear golden body, the head a wispy and collar affair. Mild citrus feel to the nose and taste, on a decent bed of semi-sweet maltiness. Refreshing enough, but lacks depth of flavour and oomph.

500ml bottle from Waitrose. Pours clear-ish golden-brown with a white head. Aroma: bread, orange, pineapple hints, hoppy. Taste: light sweet & moderate bitter, toasted malts, fruity, earthy, orange pith, spicy marmalade and hints of tropical fruit. A definite nod towards the west coast. Medium body with spritzy carbonation. Interesting, enjoyed it.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. 14k for the giggles. Pours crystal clear golden with a thin ring of white head. Aromas of lemon and biscuit. Not quite malted milk, but not far off. Taste has dried mixed peel. Quite sweet though. Dried apricot on the finish. Not quite as bad as I thought it would be.

Clear copper colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have slightly toasted, nutty malts and a solid dry, floral hop profile. Nice thing about this is that it's bottle conditioned and brings back the taste of the pints I had in Derby some 20 years ago.
