Description
First and foremost, Mike & Cathy opened Laurelwood as a reflection of what they wanted in a neighborhood restaurant. As the parents of young children, they wanted a family friendly environment that did not end and begin with being simply offered a high chair. As native Pacific Northwesterners, it was important to support our local farmers and purveyors & to support sustainability and the organic movement. As neighbors, it was important to create a place where friends and families could meet to have a relaxed dinner and a couple of drinks that supported their community. These are the factors that are most important to us and really help set us apart from other brewpubs and dining establishments.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to pint glass.
Appearance: ruddy amber with some transparency and a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet malty tones, biscuits, molasses, some earthy & grassy hops
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a malty sweet blend; finishes malty sweet
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, very smooth along the tongue and some stickiness
Overall: good what it is but just needs something to rough up the stickiness, make it not be sticky.

Big sticky pine resins, and big, sweet, bready, boozy, caramelized malts. Oily mouth feel, sticky lacing on the glass, and a medium carb.. The finish is slightly woody, with some dank, resinous hops. Wet hop cones, hints of citrus, finishes is medium bitter with a strong sticky pine finish. This is a in ipa, bordering on double.
