About
The first beers were brewed during February 2002, and are listed under the original brewery.

The brewery merged withthe Orkney Brewery in June 2004 to become part of Highlands & Islands Breweries Ltd, although brewing for the two breweries remains separated. Following the failure of Highlands & Islands, the company was brought by Sinclair Breweries Ltd. The brewery closed in early 2010 with production being transferred to the Orkney site.

0.5l bottle. Looks really good this with a fine big frothy lasting light beige head on top of a crystal clear deep amber almost bronze looking beer. It's light caramellish on the nose with clear tones of candied sugars. Some fruitiness also going on here, but the candied sugar dominates. Quite pleasant non extreme nose. Yeah, it tastes quite alright this. Easy to drink, that's for sure. It's not extreme in any directions, not that I was expecting it to be of course but it has lots of flavor. Both caramel and again, that candied sugar comes to mind. It's not roasted but it has a little roasted element as well. Grass and nuts before it ends with traces of chocolate wrapper and crystal malts. Yeah, it's not bad at all this. 11.04.2014

0.5l bottle. This is a light cloudy one, kinda pale and golden in color with a really lacing white head. Smells alright actually. Grainy a really floral with hints of sawdust and hops. Some heather honey has also made its way in to the aroma. A faint fruity hint within there as well. It has a quite pleasant licorice hint in the taste that took me by surprise. Has to be the hp combo that's fooling me. Not full-bodied but it's definitely not watery either. A nice floral flavor also. Soft grainy with more of that sawdust. Can remind a little bit of a non alco beverage but it has a little honey sweetness and fruity flavor that goes nice along with the rest of the flavors. A little metallic and old hoppy flavor in the finish and aftertaste. No horrible beer this. 11.04.2014

Bottle. A lightly hazy golden colored beer topped by a small, white head. Some diacetyl in the fruity aroma. Cellar hints. Dry on the palate with a nice bitterness. Fruityness, bready hints and some diacetyl. Lasting finish. Very boring, and sure no IPA. Drinkable though. 141228
