Bottle shared with my dad. Pours deep orange with thin head. Pleasantly fruity weizen, a tad too sweet bit otherwise not bad.

Bottle at home. Pours deep copper with thin, quickly disappearing head. This definitely is a tricky one as it seems to be hopped to an extent that I dont get any pronounced character other than something that I could describe as hoppy. It definitely is more on the resinous, west coast side, but lacks the distinguishable malty base and the pronounced hop profile too. It closes with a finish so hoppy that it literally numbs my tongue. Has light body and average carbo. Interesting brew for sure, not bad by far but it’s not quite there either.

Tap at Jaberwocky. Nose is faint sweetness; malts and booze. Tastewise it’s vanilla, bourbon, coffee, definite booze. Much better and more complex than the aroma. Medium bodied with soft carbo.

Tap at Hopa. Burgundy pour with pinkish head. Nose is sweet fruity notes, lactose, a hint of blueberry, light tartness. Taste is sweet, sweet fruity notes, blueberry but without the usual tartness of the it, lactose too and a touch of tartness. Closes with a long lasting heavily sweet, a tad sour finish, has light body and average carbonation. No pastry characteristics and barely even sour. Meh.

Can at home. Black pour with a handsome beige head. This beer might not be about complexity, but it doesnt need to be either. It’s full-on chocolate, with hints of coffee, nuts, dark sugars and dried fruit. And lots and lots of peat. It really is peaty but it also works well as a whole so it’s aight. The body is thick and somewhat creamy, with a soft carbonation. Tasty.

A bit of a throwback to the good days of WCIPAs. Slightly cloudy golden orange. Hefty bright citrus notes, pine, lightly sweet malt, a hint of cereal. Finish is mildly dry with nice bitterness. Really enjoyable and I hope more beers like this come back in the future.

Almost black beer with a tan head. Aroma of piney hops, spruce, roasted dark malt. Taste of mild roasted dark malt, coffee, piney hops, spruce tips, long bitter finish.
