Description
Birbant is one of the pioneers of Polish craft brewing - bold, independent, and driven by creativity. We don’t follow the noise - we brew what truly matters.

Birbant (pronounced ‘beer-bunt’; Polish for ‘bon vivant’) contract brewery was established in 2013 by Jarek and Krzysiek (a.k.a. Kuli), two brewers and beer enthusiasts. Jarek is a professional brewer, who’s worked with several different breweries, while Kuli started brewing at home in 2003 and in the ten years before Birbant many of his home batches earned him awards at homebrew competitions. In their own words: “We have worked together on new recipes for a few years now. Our goal is to make flavorful and exceptionally aromatic beers we would like to drink ourselves.”

2020-10-14 Aromat słodki karmelowy toffi, trochę orzechów, ale mało intensywny. Piana beżowa lekko zamglone, ciemno bursztynowy kolor. Smak melanoidynowy karmel i orzechy, słodkie, z balansem dobrym Nagazowanie średnie, ciało średnie, lekko gumiaste, alkohol prawie niewyczuwalny, finisz długi melanoidynowy. Ogólnie piwo przypomina koźlaki, nie czuć płatków zbyt wyraźnie chyba, że to są te orzechy. Kiedyś było lepsze

0.5 l can from 'Beerdome', best before June 2025. Very hazy, pale green (!) with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, rather fruity aroma of guava and kiwi. Gently sweet, slightly sour, rather fruity and a bit artificial taste of guava, kiwi, some sherbet powder and traces of gummy bear, followed by a short, moderately tart finish. Medium body, slightly astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting but not totally convincing.

0.50l can. Aroma is herbal, floral, leathery, grainy and funky. Pours cloudy pale golden color with large soapy white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts light to medium sweet grainy and mild fruity, following is piney, honeyish and slightly medicinal, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is average bitter. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. What The Heka…

Bottle at home. Aroma of roast, citrus, coffee, malt, some pine, hint of tropical fruit, hops. Flavour is light sweet and medium bitter. Well, this is simply a very tasty BIPA with high drinkability.

Aroma of tropical fruits, grapefruit, citrus, fresh hops. There’s a strange element in the aroma I can’t quite identify, but it’s nothing pleasant. Flavour is light sweet with a medium bitter finish. Too flawed to enjoy.

Aroma of grass, tropical fruits, grapefruit, some pine, grassy hops. Flavour is moderate to medium bitter. This does not fully present the range of Simcoe as a single hop beer, but it’s nicely refreshing and sessionable.
